The extend to which we are able to connect
the seemingly unrelated
Everything we conceive is based on shapes, rules, principles and materials that were already extant in nature somewhere; they only had to be discovered, collected and combined to come to 'new ideas'. We work with what we experience.
That means the originality of our brain output is very dependent on what we put in. One efficient way to diversify this input, is to travel.
Experiencing other cultures, leaving our home comforts, paying attention to the wonders of nature: living beyond our own known environment will inspire us and can offer new solutions for old questions.
Separated from our daily routines we find space for our thoughts to settle on the things we really want to do, learn, make and experience in our lives.
